Summary:

Our client is a local web development firm who is seeking to add a Web Developer to their Louisville area team. Responsibilities will consist of coding database-driven web applications. Typically this individual will work with Java or Python (sometimes PHP and .NET) which interact with a database server, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Mercurial, and Redmine. The successful candidate may jump from project to project in a given day or be tasked with working on a long-term project that could take weeks. The customers have varied needs so no two projects are ever alike. This does offer some variability in type of work. This is an in-depth programming job, not a design role. The ability to take ownership of a project and develop a sound solution is critical.

Best practices:
All projects are managed in a DVCS (Mercurial and Git)
Project management on BitBucket (social coding website
Test-centric development methodology
Adhere to Lean/Agile principles but not enslaved to them
Open to changing processes and using new technologies when it makes sense
Highly desired:
Proficient in one or more of the following: PHP, Python, Ruby, and/or .NET MVC
Strong SQL background (stored procedures, triggers, views, joins)
Experience with HTML, CSS, table-less design techniques
Experience with JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax, Json
Understanding Test driven development and ability to write unit and functional tests
Familiar with version control
Basic networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP)
Nice to have:
Significant experience with Python
SQLAlchemy, Flask, Pylons, Django experience
Nose, Pytest or other Python testing experience
Java experience
LINUX familiarity
LESS/SASS familiarity

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
