Job Description:Prepares products for shipping by preparing and protecting product; building crates.Job Duties May Include:Planning designing crates by looking-up standard specifications; analyzing special product requirements.Building crates by selecting, measuring, cutting lumber, plastic, or metal using sawing and cutting equipment and hand tools; moving product into place using forklift truck and products by affixing padding and weatherproofing materials; securing product to pallet and crate; preparing truck or railroad bracing.Identifying product for shipping by verifying customer delivery information; preparing and affixing address stencil.Keeping supplies ready by inventorying crating stock; requesting required supplies.Improving product protection by recommending improved designs; conducting durability tests.Updating job knowledge by participating in educational manufacturing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.Skills
