Primary Purpose:
Plans, organizes and conducts technical projects for design, manufacture, modification and evaluation of new or enhanced hardware products for communications systems. Projects may involve some or all of the following: exploration of product design and/or process problems, definition and selection of new concepts and approaches, component selection and evaluation, origination or modification of material, process specifications and requirements.

Responsibilities:
Design and implement digital and analog hardware circuits with an emphasis on power supply design for communications systems
Create test plans and platforms in lab environment to verify design approaches and concepts
Perform root cause analysis, propose solutions, and support implementation of changes for existing product design issues in support of ongoing production and field support
Interface with software engineering to insure proper integration of software and hardware
Support the execution of customer programs to include presentations and production of documents for customer
Understand and adhere to all LGS ethical and compliance policies
Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures
Perform other duties as required
Able to obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the job
Qualifications
Basic
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance (US citizenship is a prerequisite)
Experience with schematic capture, simulation, circuit design, debugging and testing of electrical circuits
Strong background in power circuit design and analysis
Knowledge of battery technologies and design desired
Fully proficient with associated lab equipment (logic analyzers, O-scopes, spectrum analyzers, Bode analyzers, power supplies, etc.) and debugging approaches and procedures
Experience with Mentor Graphics schematic capture, simulation and circuit design tools
Familiarity with creating bill-of-materials and product support documentation
Strong teamwork, communication and documentation skills are essential
Ability to work independently in a small team environment with project managers, mechanical engineers, layout designers, technicians and external suppliers to ensure project deliverables are consistently met on schedule and on budget
Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required
Minimum Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 4-6 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, skills and experience
