Working in a Group Home with adults with disability or mental illness. To provide persons supported with quality services. Assisting them to become as independent as possible. Working 4 days one week Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday the next week Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7P-7A. Transporting them to outing in community, doctors appointment, etc. Assisting them to reach the goals that have been developed for them.
1. Assist Director in admitting new consumers and in orienting them to their surroundings.
2. Allow consumers freedom of movement.
3. Assist and teach consumers in all areas of self-help skills and personal care needs. Ex: feeding, bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.
4. Assure that all consumers are dressed appropriately for the season.
5. Take and record vital signs as appropriate and as ordered by physicians.
6. Administer and record medication and treatment as ordered by physician.
7. Keep medication closet neat, clean and organized.
8. Keep internal and external medications separate.
9. Assist Director in planning and carrying out activities.
10. Carry out planned activities in the absence of the Director.
11. Transport consumers to scheduled appointments when indicated by the Director.
12. Provide assistance to consumers in keeping clothing, bedding, and personal belongings laundered, clean, and in order.
13. Assist consumers in making beds and changing bed linens as needed.
14. Provide assistance with clean towels and washcloths as needed.
15. Be responsible for cleanliness of the house in accordance with each shift's checklist.
16. Assure careful treatment of equipment and proper utilization of supplies.
17. Provide consumers with assistance in all areas of toileting, including using and emptying bedpans, urinals, and bedside commodes.
18. Assist consumers into and out of bed, into and out of wheelchair as needed.
19. Assist Director with petty cash recap, grocery and gas receipts, consumer funds.
20. Assist Director with the purchase of groceries as needed according to menu plan.
21. Prepare and serve meals and snacks for consumers according to posted menus, including preparations for special diets.
22. Notify Director or staff person in charge when there is need for medical attention for any consumer, or of any changes in consumer's condition.
23. Immediately report and document any incident or accident to Director.
24. Know all emergency procedures, and be able to apply them at all times.
25. Participate in fire drills.
26. Know the proper use of restraints and policies governing them.
27. Know the Resident's Bill of Rights, and assist consumers in exercising those rights.
28. Know confidentiality standards and enforce them at all times.
29. Know and follow all policies governing the facility.
30. Participate in job-related continuing education as determined by Director. Keep annual training current. _Understand that failure to renew training by date due will result in immediate removal from the schedule until training is brought up to date._
31. Maintain the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each consumer.
32. Work cooperatively with all other staff and relate favorably to consumers, their families, service providers, and contract agencies.
33. Adhere to company policy that prohibits taking a consumer to a private residence without written approval of administration or leaving consumer unattended in a vehicle or any other public place.
34. Provide CAP or Community Support one-on-one services for consumers in home when required by circumstances.
35. Notify Director immediately of any suspected neglect, abuse, or exploitation of consumers.
36. Be familiar with HIPAA rules and regulations and abide by them.
37. Perform other duties as required by circumstances.
Must be 25 years old (requirement by auto insurance company) with High School Diploma or GED and be able to read, write, understand and follow directions. Must have no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry /Health Care Program or be listed on the HHS/OIG List of Excluded Individual/Entities. SBI and DMV records must meet the requirements of area mental health contracts.
Experience with persons with developmental disabilities preferred but not required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
