The Nurse Manager is the first line supervisor for the Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants and ancillary clinical staff assigned to the Beaufort Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).
The Nurse manager demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve patient care with the goal of demonstrating improvements at a organizational level within the facility, VISN or VACO. The Nurse Manager must demonstrate excellence in customer service for both internal and external customers. Finally, the Nurse Manager:
Leads and organizes delivery of care to assure continuity of care and peer accountability for practice Uses advanced clinical knowledge/judgment to promote staff involvement in planning, decision-making, and evaluating outcomes,
Functions as an expert in clinical practice and/or areas related to the assigned roles and responsibilities, Systematically evaluates current practice, and formulates outcomes for groups of patients and/or organizational processes within an area of expertise
Guiding, developing, and supporting staff from a leadership perspective facilitating shared decision-making, and
Uses professional standards of care, scientific evidence, and practice to evaluate programs and/or service activities.
