General Summary
The Clinic RN serves as professional liaison between the physician and the patient. Serving the medical needs of patients with various health conditions in a professional, confidential, and caring manner is of utmost importance. A strong commitment to patient advocacy, the ability to interpret patients' responses and needs, and a thorough understanding of Embrace the Spirit's twelve standards of behavior are essential. The RN is responsible to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and follow up on nursing care for patients. The RN demonstrates competency in nursing practice as outlined in the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. The RN may delegate aspects of patient care to LPNs and unlicensed personnel as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act. This position reports directly to the Practice Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
Understands and demonstrates the twelve (12) behavior standards for Embrace the Spirit.
Provides the highest level of nursing assessment and integration of data collected related to the health status of the patient.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Prioritizes patient needs based on data collected.
Provides independent, dependent and interdependent functions related to nursing care.
Provides direct care to unstable/complex patients.
Delegates tasks and interventions to the LPN and CMA/MA based on their respective levels of competency.
Provides telephone triage to patients, pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical offices. This may be done by telephone and/or computer.
Assists the physician with complex/high risk examinations and procedures with unpredictable outcomes provided in the clinic.
Maintains patient flow in accordance with time of appointment or walk-in status in order to avoid delays for the physician and undue waiting for patients.
Schedules outpatient tests and procedures provided at hospitals by telephone. Provides patient education for complex tests/testing and explains preparation required for successful results to the patient and/or significant other.
Places follow up telephone calls to patients who have had any type of surgical procedure. Does telephone assessment of patient and notes in the patient medical record. Reports any unusual or abnormal information to the physician, PA, or NP as appropriate. Takes appropriate action.
Provides patient education to all patients; delegates certain aspects of patient education as appropriate. Is responsible to insure understanding of therapeutic interventions required for optimal results.
Maintains efficient, organized, and clean work areas.
Monitors inventory of supplies and reports to the Practice Manager.
Disposes of needles and other sharps in biohazard sharp containers according to procedures provided by the clinic.
Oversees safety and waste management for the lab.
Understands and follows orders and communicates results per physician direction.
Communicates with patients, families and other professionals in a courteous manner.
Performs clinic procedures within the scope of licensure.
Observes all rules regarding managed care and other health insurance agreements for the benefit of the patient's insurance coverage, including obtaining referral forms when necessary.
Reports problems or potential problems to Practice Manager.
Schedules patient appointments on computer if necessary.
Assists other providers within the clinic when necessary.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
Experience/Pre-Requisites:
Previous medical office experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification:

Holds current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nebraska.

Current CPR certification.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
