Candidate will be working in the areas of inventory control and logistics management of state-of-the-art computer equipment and be responsible for the receipt, accountability, set-up, use, and further transportation (if necessary) of this equipment to support the Chief Engineer of the Navy Warfare Development Command (NWDC) Norfolk VA. Responsibility for the care and control of millions of dollars of computer equipment requires close attention to details such as exact equipment identity, intended use, and the efficient, effective, and safe movement of equipment internally and external to NWDC to support a full range of modeling and simulation (M&S;) efforts. Candidate should possess a working knowledge of computers, computer network systems, and computer peripheral equipment. Ability to obtain a security clearance under the auspices of the Department of Defense is a requirement for this position. Candidate must be able to work independently in a position of high trust, as well as collaborate regularly as a member of a team. The position requires occasional travel within and outside the continental United States. Candidate will be required to lift objects of various sizes and shapes weighing up to 70 pounds. Candidate is expected to exercise close attention to detail to ensure full, timely, and complete accountability for all M&S; equipment and/or systems under NWDC control. To this end, the Candidate will be expected to update and maintain the computerized database for all NWDC M&S; equipment. The Candidate would also be expected to export this database internally and externally using email and file transfer protocol (FTP) techniques. It is desirable that Candidate posses a familiarity with bar-code techniques and systems, especially those that interface with Microsoft Office products. Candidate should posses a solid background, good working knowledge of, and considerable familiarity with the latest edition of the Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, a basic understanding of Access is desired). Candidate will be expected to make extensive use of email and the Internet in the performance of duties, as well as the use of office telephone. Strong communication skills are required. Candidate is expected to exercise logistic management, including the expeditious shipping and control of computers, computer network systems, and computer peripheral equipment for NWDC. Shipments will need to be prepared and executed in a timely manner. Candidate must possess a solid secondary education with a concentration on the use of computers in the areas of inventory control and logistics management. Education and Experience Bachelor s degree in related discipline plus at least 2 years of directly related experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 7 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft applications. A DoD security clearance is required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
