Job Description:_
The Children and Youth, Justice and Behavioral Health (CJBH) Research and Evaluation Team has a broad portfolio of projects focusing on criminal justice practices and policies. The team is seeking a Research Assistant to work on multiple projects with topics ranging from victim services, juvenile diversion, pre-trial services, and forensic policies. With the supervision of more experienced researchers, the Research Assistant will be responsible for leading key tasks and assisting in the performance of social science research by gathering information and helping to prepare material for inclusion in reports.
The position is located at ICF''s headquarters in Fairfax, VA and will require some travel (up to 20% nationwide).

_Key
Responsibilities:_
Perform background research on specified topics and synthesize material in the form of annotated bibliographies and literature reviews.
Collect primary data through conducting interviews, focus groups, or surveys. Assist and/or participate in site visits.
Manage databases and clean and validate data using statistical analysis software such as SPSS, Stata, or SAS.
Transcribe and code qualitative data.
Analyze primary and secondary data using basic statistical methods (e.g., regression).
Coordinate logistics (e.g., teleconferences and virtual meetings).
## Qualifications
_Basic
Qualifications:_
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, sociology, statistics, economics, or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (transcripts requested).
Experience in social science research.
Experience with data collection, administering surveys, interviews, focus groups, or structured observations.
Familiar with statistical software (i.e. SPSS, SAS, and Stata).
Proficient in MS applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Interest in criminal justice topics.
Willingness to travel up to 20% nationwide on an annual basis.

Experience:_
Experience or knowledge related to victim services and/or other criminal justice areas.
Experience in report-writing and other technical writing.

Superior writing skills including editing ability (writing sample is required).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
