How you will contribute
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Services Technician position in the Matco Services Department of our Global Engineered Infrastructure Products (EIP) Division''s Matco Inspection Services Department. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will provide repair, service, materials testing, and inspection services to Matco Services customers. Additionally, you will
Repair and service for Matco customers using methods like welding, sand blasting, painting and coatings application
Calibrate testing equipment prior to performing materials testing and inspection
Ensure timely completion of assigned reports, inspection analysis, and other deliverables
Interact appropriately with Matco customers on a face-to-face basis
Wear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations
Maintain a safe and productive working environment
Perform various other duties requested by the supervisor to ensure customer requests are met
What it takes
Required Qualifications
One month of previous experience in field services, construction work, or production environment
One year of previous experience operating hand and power tools in a professional environment
Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
Must have an acceptable prior performance and attendance record
The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
The ability to travel domestically up to 80% of the time
The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand and/or walk for the entire shift
The ability to perform in many outdoor developed and natural environments
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
Associates degree in Business or Construction Management
A NACE Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level I Certification
A strong working knowledge of paint applications and galvanizing procedures
The ability to understand and analyze production prints, project plans, and specifications
A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
