Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital (SMEH) is a 331-bed, full-service hospital, founded by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in 1874. SMEH offers a full range of vascular, orthopaedic, cardiac, medical imaging, surgical and emergency services, a wound healing center, sleep disorders center and has three medical plazas on campus to provide office space for a wide array of physicians representing a number of specialties. Additionally, SMEH is home to Jewish Bariatric Care, the region's only weight-loss management program utilizing the Lap-Band System and The Women's Center, a state-of-the-art diagnostic facility specifically for women.
Responsible for coordinating quality monitoring functions as assigned and may include: departmental, medical staff and facility-wide monitoring. Facilitate, organize and coordinate quality related meetings. Identify patient quality and safety improvement opportunities and communicate through reports and verbal communication through a matrix to the appropriate parties and entities. Facilitate coordination of effort between physicians, nursing and other clinical and management members related to quality. Serve as professional support for the risk management program which is focused on enhancing patient safety and quality of care.

Qualifications
Education: Degree in Nursing, RN required.
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program is preferred. Effective May 1, 2014, all new-hire Associate Degree Registered Nurses (new graduate and experienced) are required to start an approved BSN program within two years of hire and complete an approved BSN program within five years of hire.

Experience: 2 years of clinical/acute care experience with emphasis in cardiac or emergency room care; 1-2 years quality improvement experience preferred; working knowledge/experience with computer networks and Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, maintenance of Excel databases, PowerPoint)
Licensure: Current active license from the Kentucky Board of Nursing
Skills: Uses Continuous Quality Improvement process and tools. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to gain confidence of the medical staff and maintain working relationships with administrators, managers, and medical staff. Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle several projects simultaneously. Problem solving ability is helpful. Knowledge of Joint Commission standards .

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
