Ensure all equipment at assigned hub and end-of-line locations is safe, reliable, and properly maintained according to company policies and procedures. Monitor parts inventory, purchasing and vendor performance. Ensure accurate and adequate equipment maintenance records are maintained. Ensure proper tire maintenance processes are employed. Provide training for shop supervisors and ensure mechanics are adequately trained for providing expected level of equipment operating support.
1. Ensure all equipment at hub and end-of-line locations is safe, reliable, and properly maintained according to company policies and procedures and consistently available to operations when needed. Provide for achieving expected, extended life cycles and maximum utilization of city equipment with minimal down time and expense. Ensure mechanical problems are anticipated, prevented, properly analyzed, and promptly resolved.
2. Monitor the part purchase process. Review invoices and requests for equipment repair authorization based on predetermined limits and coordinate with preferred vendors. Ensure quality parts are purchased at competitive prices and that established purchase procedures are employed. Monitor vendors for quality and reasonable pricing of purchased parts and materials.
3. Ensure maintenance records are appropriately maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures. Ensure consistent and uniform application of administrative procedures at terminal locations.
4. Ensure proper tire maintenance processes are employed. Ensure regular inspection of equipment, tires and tire inventories. Develop terminal specific routine for tire changes, rotations and ordering. Provide for maximum, safe tire life, proper cost control and minimum tire inventories.
5. Provide training to shop mechanics in company policies and procedures. Ensure mechanics are adequately trained and follow procedures. Coordinate efforts to provide safe, economic, and timely repair of equipment with repairs and maintenance work that is initially performed properly.
6. Maintain a safe working shop environment through good housekeeping, safety awareness training, and proactive employee involvement.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience.
2. Experience as a supervisor with demonstrated leadership abilities.
3. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
4. Working knowledge of operations demonstrating an understanding of equipment needs, availability, and processes utilizing equipment.
5. Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
PREFERRED REQUREMENTS
1. 2 years experience as a front line supervisor.
2. Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures. __
