Job Description
Reports To: Supervisor, Power
Summary:
Position will operate and maintain one or more centrifugal chillers that provide an establishment with such services as air-conditioning (cool, humidify, dehumidify, filter and circulate air).
Essential Job Functions: (not limited to duties as described - performs related duties as requested)
Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of the system's operation, adjusting controls to ensure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for services provided.
Record system parameters on log-sheets, and maintain proper equipment operations.
Keep machinery and equipment of the system in good working order.
May direct and coordinate activities of other workers (not stationary engineers) in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining the system.

Level of Supervision:
Education &
Experience: (or equivalent)
High school diploma or equivalent
Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in centrifugal chiller operations and central utility plant operations.
Candidate will be required to stand watch in the Chill Water Plant. HVAC technician experience preferred
May require rotating shift work.
License & Certifications:
OSHA 10 training a plus
Must have a valid Maryland 1stclass stationary engineers license.
Knowledge & Skills:
Extensive knowledge in specialized functions. A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with and understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Knowledge of building management systems including Johnson Controls and Siemens Controls controlling a campus wide energy management & Control System.
Background with knowledge and experience with Siemens.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
