The Operational Language Analyst performs tasks required to process voice and/or graphic language materials in support of SIGINT Operations, to include but not limited to:
Scanning of foreign language material and assigning disposition codes in accordance with established guidance;
Transcription of spoken language into the native language or a transliteration system;
Translation of spoken language or graphic material into modern American English in either full or gisted format;
Drafting of SIGINT reports; and
Typing in a foreign language.
This is a contingent position based on funding from the customer.
High School Diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or equivalent.
Performance at Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) skill level 2 in audio translation and/or text translation from PASHTU into standard American English. Skill level shall be documented within the last two (2) years.
Equivalent of two (2) years full-time experience performing cryptologic language processing in the required language.
Translating and/or transcribing, and gisting shall be the primary duty for at least one (1) of the two (2) years experience.
One (1) year experience typing on an English keyboard.
Applicants selected for this position will require an active DoD TS/SCI Full Scope poly to start work _(Individuals possessing a current Counter-Intelligence (CI) polygraph will be considered for a contract position that requires a full-scope polygraph if they possess a Conditional Certification of Access (CCA) pending the successful completion and adjudication of a full-scope polygrap.)_at a minimum. Applicants selected for a security clearance will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirement for access to classified information.
Acceptable Experience for Operational Language Analyst Skill Level 1: Performance of the following tasks constitutes acceptable cryptologic language processing experience: scanning and sorting/categorizing foreign language materials; recovering essential elements of information; gisting, translating and transcribing; and compiling and updating operational working aids and databases.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
