Automation Technician Duties and Responsibilities
Perform various non-repetitive mechanical assembly functions using hand or power tools.
Build machines and sub-assemblies according to design requirements and specifications.
Comply with the company safety procedures.
Consult regularly with Project Managers to report status, raise issues, take direction, and help where needed.
Participate in regular project status updates with Customers.
Quality - Ensure standards are maintained in a highly regulated, process driven environment.
Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines.
Good mechanical and organization skills.
Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and electrical schematics/wiring diagrams.
General knowledge of custom automation equipment.
General machine shop skills including lathe, mill.
Competence with a wide variety of tools and measuring instruments.
Basic electrical background, blueprint reading, previous machine shop experience.
MS Office 2010 (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be a self-starter, team player, work well with others and have a positive attitude.
Must be a creative thinker, results oriented, focused, and attentive to detail and accuracy.
Must have ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Automation Technician Education and Experience
Previous experience with machine assembly in automation industry.
High School graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.
A minimum of 4 years of direct related experience.
Effective verbal and written communications.
Leadership potential to lead a team or a spearhead a project
Understanding of robotics, control systems and machine operation with hands-on experience is desirable.
A self-starter with the ability to work alone or as part of a team in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
Successful experience troubleshooting complex equipment during project startup phases.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
