Quantum Tech Staffing is looking for a JAVA Developer for a short-term contract position with one of our clients in Charlottesville, Virginia.
You will be part of a fast-track project team working on deployment of the open source semantic web tool, VIVO. The project involves the initial implementation of a searchable repository of research data.
Responsibilities
Customize delivered data interfaces importing remote XML web services into VIVO via VIVO Harvester.
Write well designed testable, efficient code.
Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications.
Prepare and produce releases of software components.
Documentation of customizations sufficient to deliver upon project completion.
Requirements
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
3 - 5 years of experience in Java development.
Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java platforms and configuring Tomcat.
Experience with the Apache Jena framework for semantic web and linked data applications.
Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases (MySQL), XML/XSLT, and JSP.
Experience with test-driven development.
Familiarity with semantic web ontologies, and experience in higher education environments desired.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
