Phillips66 owns or leases various Transportation assets such as: pipelines, terminals, railcars and trucks in order to provide strategic timely and environmentally safe delivery and storage of crude oil, refined products and natural gas liquids to its refineries and to carry refined products to the market.
Transportation has approximately 26,000 miles of common-carrier crude oil, raw natural gas liquids and products pipeline systems in the U.S. As well as 48 finished product terminals, 10 liquefied petroleum gas terminals, seven crude oil terminals, one coke exporting facility, and manages over 160 truck carrier companies and over 10,000 railcars.
Description:
Our Controllers operate and control remote pipeline systems. The Controllers are located in the Phillips 66 Bartlesville, Oklahoma office. Controllers work a 12-hour rotating shift that includes weekends and holidays. Operating pipeline systems requires skill and dedication in order to perform job responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner. Controller candidates must satisfactorily complete an intense Controller training program and probation period to become a Controller. Much of the training is hands on with significant support from an assigned Controller Trainer and a Controller Supervisor mentor.
Responsibilities may include:
Remotely operating crude and product pipeline systems
Accurately following established procedures and processes at all times
Interpreting hydraulic data and responding to operational events and emergencies
Optimizing power usage through unit selection and scheduling techniques
Planning, coordinating, and making necessary call-outs to maintain operations
Effectively communicating with customers, supervisors and others at various functional levels
Providing training and mentorship to less experienced Controllers
Developing and updating operations procedures and processes
Controllers are required to satisfactorily pass the training program in six months absent any extenuating circumstances
Basic/Required:
Legally authorized to work in the United States
High School Diploma / GED
Must be 18 years of age
Willingness and ability to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Ability to work at least a 12 hour rotating shift, which includes weekends and holidays
Ability to work overtime as needed
Ability to respond to facility emergencies and be on site when called within 30 minutes or less
Conditions of employment may include:
Successful completion of an entry level test prior to interview
The ability to distinguish between red and green colors on a CRT monitor
As was described in the Controller job description, controllers are required to satisfactorily pass the training program in six months absent any extenuating circumstances
Preferred:
Associate''s degree or higher
3 or more years of relevant military experience
3 or more years of pipeline controller experience
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Fundamental understanding of product and crude pipeline hydraulic principles and unit characteristics
Strong oral and written communication skills
The ability to interact and work in a team environment
Strong multi-tasking abilities
The ability to lead and influence others
