Job Description
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking an Information Assurance Technician for a temporary position (Summer 2014 only). Basic functions of the job:
Liaison with system developers to assess the impact of Information Assurance requirements and validate/document the implementation of mandated information Assurance controls.
Research and recommend information assurance architectures and procedures, executing Information Assurance testing in mixed network environments.
Generate and manage information Assuranc3e certifications and accreditation documentation.
Technical Performance Responsibility Information Assurance technical support of military tactical/non-tactical, Electronics Support Measures suites, law enforcement and relational data base applications.
Ability to identify conflicts between the need for systems functionality and Information assurance Requirements.
Familiarity with information systems vulnerability scanning tools, e.g. DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidance, Security Readiness Review Scripts, and implementation of scanning tools.
Ability to grasp operational and technology requirements for tactical systems
Job Requirements
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or Engineering Military tactical/non-tactical LAN and/or large information systems experience preferred Encryption, key management, patch management, Identification and Authentication, auditing and monitoring, routers and systems/network management. Proficiency in MS Windows and familiarity with UNIX/Linus, Solaris, VMware, Real-Time Operation Systems, routers and embedded processor networking environments.
Familiarity with relational databases e.g. MS SQL, MYSQL, Oracle, etc. MS Batch and Perl Scripting.
Ability to interface with clients and systems engineering personnel with limited interaction with supervisor.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
