Job Description
SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an Archaeological Field Director/Project Archaeologist to lead crews and support office efforts for our Sheridan, Wyoming office. Field Directors manage all aspects of fieldwork, supervising one or more crews during archaeological survey, construction monitoring, and/or excavations. This is a regular, full-time, hourly position. Pay rate will be based on individual qualifications and experience

Responsibilities:
Fieldwork (survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery) and/or supervising field crews
Professional report and site form preparation, research, and literature reviews
Leadership (problem solving, decision making, team building, and conflict resolution)
Communication and adherence to protocol
Data QA/QC,organization, and tracking; field GPS data collection using Trimble units and/or tablets
Ensure a safe working environment for field crews
Represent SWCA in a professional manner in interactions with clients, agencies, and landowners
When project travel and overnight stay is required, per diem is included
Job
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Master's Degree in Anthropology or a closely related field
Past archaeological field experience in Wyoming and/or Montana
Previous field supervisory experience
Ability to be listed on federal and state permits in Wyoming
Ability to travel and conduct fieldwork for long hours (sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, and at high altitudes) and to carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
