Responsibilities:
Architecture
- Assist the Development Lead in the analysis and definition of overall technology architecture.
- Assist in the definition and set up the appropriate development framework for delivering the target architecture.
Team Management
- Manage java development team in one or more locations
- Provide direction for java developers and act as escalation point for questions or issues.
- Build relationship and work closely and effectively with development teams
Production Delivery
- Manage deliverables to plan and mitigate issues in a fast paced environment
- Production environment accountability
- Act as primary owner of critical java development tasks within the project.
- Ability to code and review code to ensure quality and to help troubleshoot problems
- Follow audit and production control processes to ensure successful production releases
- Proven experience as a development lead in a relevant financial services environment.
- Proven experience in the Trading or Operations business area or similar background
- Financing technology background a plus
- Strong experience of software architecture and development skills in a high pressure, time critical environment.
- In-depth Java development knowledge - core Java, JMS, JPA.
- .Net Experience
- Proven experience of multi-tier architectures.
- Exposure to development tools like Hibernate, Ant, Maven, Hudson etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to effectively work on multiple streams of work and to organize self and others to deliver in a timely fashion.
- In-depth understanding of performance tuning, message integrity and security.
Skills Required
- Self starter
- Proven database experience - development of procedures and debugging of issues.
- Worked in a structured development environment with experience and interest in agile development techniques - scrum/test driven development/continuous integration.
- Knowledge of Java frameworks - MULE/Spring/EJB.
- Demonstrates ownership and takes responsibility for their work
- Team lead experience. Ability to coach others.
- Conceptual and analytical thinking, to the solution of problems and issues. Able to recognize trends, patterns and relationships between apparently unrelated events. Able to
see key issues and/or themes in complex situations.
- Consistently displays awareness and sensitivity to the needs of internal clients and external vendors. Proactively ensures these needs are met.
- Planning and coordination skills across teams to ensure overall project deadlines are met and issues escalated
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
