PROJECT
For more than 20 years, Parsons has supported the Department of Energy (DOE) at the Savannah River Site in South Carolina. Parsons is developing a conceptual design for a Salt Waste Processing Facility (SWPF) to process highly radioactive liquid wastes currently stored in large underground tanks. Salt wastes account for about 34 of the 37 million gallons of radioactive waste at Savannah River. The SWPF continues Parsons' full-service support for first-of-a-kind process facilities to solve our nation's most complex waste issues.



Need
:

Parsons is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for our Aiken, SC location. The incumbent will be directed by the Quality Control Manager, Project Engineer, Construction Manager, or Project Manager. The incumbent will also provide quality control inspection activities on assigned project and/ or functional areas to ensure that products or services provided are in accordance with customer and Parsons requirements. Regularly interacts with other employees, representatives from a variety of functional groups, and project management, suppliers, subcontractors and client on project. Provides leadership to Quality Control Inspectors and Quality Control Inspectors, Associate.
This position does not offer relocation assistance or per diem.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
:

Responsible for:
1) Implementing inspection, examination, and testing procedures
2) Recording inspection, examination, and testing data
3) Planning inspections, evaluations, and tests; setting up tests, including preparation and set-up of related equipment
4) Evaluating the validity and acceptability of inspection, examination and testing results
5) Reporting inspection, examination and testing results
6) Providing leadership to lower-level QC Inspectors
7) Evaluating the adequacy of specific programs used to train and test inspection, examination, and testing personnel


Qualifications

Required
High School/Trade School diploma and 8 years of related construction experience or 2 years as a Quality Control Inspector Level.

Appropriate Quality Control Inspector Certification required within 12 months of employment.

It is anticipated that individuals will be certified to perform activities in one or more of the following areas (or subjects): Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Instrumentation and Controls, Civil, Structural, Architectural, HVAC, Welding, Non-Destructive Examination, Receiving, and Special Processes. Certification to industry recognized standards, such as certification to DOT, IEEE, AWS, SNT-TC-1a, IEEE, ACI or International Code Council or internal Parsons certification requirements as part of the GBU Quality Control certification program, (developed and prescribed by GBU procedure, and administered locally or by the GBU) will be required.

Preferred

4-year degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Math, Quality Assurance or related field and 4 years related construction experience or 2 years as Quality Control Inspector
or
4-year degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Math, Quality Assurance and 2 years as Quality Control Inspector and previous leadership experience
or
2-year degree in the appropriate construction discipline and 5 years related construction experience with 2 years as Quality Control Inspector

ASQ membership desirable.

Additional years of education beyond the minimum requirement are considered equivalent to years of related work experience.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
:

All inspectors must be tested for visual acuity and color discrimination as a part of employment.
Requires proficiency in the use of computers and software packages needed to support the documentation, analysis and retention of quality records.
Requires the ability to communicate clearly and interface effectively with a diverse group of professionals.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
