Boomtown Casino - Biloxi is currently looking for a Sr Stewarding Supervisor to join the team.
Work Schedule: Will Vary
Average Hours per Week: 35-40
Pay Rate: Minimum $30,838 annually
Your daily responsibilities include:
Responsible for providing leadership in maintaining all aspects of steward operations in all outlets
Will work a variety of hours and shifts to ensure sanitation standards are upheld
Maintains work areas (kitchens, cooking preparation, etc.), equipment (cook stoves, grills, stove hoods, deep fryers, etc.), and utensils in a clean and sanitary manner and in accordance with OSHA and ServSafe standards
Trains and develops Utility staff to exceed established sanitation and cleanliness levels
Develops equipment cleaning schedules for fixed and movable equipment
Schedules Utility staff for all shifts in all kitchen ware-washing operations
Removes garbage and trash, and places refuse in designated pick up area
Operates mechanical devices designed to assist such as scrubbers and dishwasher
Adheres to proper cleanliness and sanitation standards as set forth by ServSafe
Maintains cleanliness and sanitary conditions in all kitchen areas and food storage areas by steam cleaning mats and other walking surfaces, washing walls, ceilings, and woodwork
Carries or transfers by hand-truck, supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
Stocks serving stations with utensils
Collects all soiled pots, washes and re-stacks cleaned pots on shelves
Maintains safe working conditions and practices in the kitchen and eating area
Mops and sweeps floors
Cleans and sanitizes all cooking equipment
Sets up dishwasher machine
Stacks and stores clean dishes in proper kitchen areas
Ability to communicate and cooperate with all management and line staff employees
Ensures that the minimum level of labor is used to perform the required level of service without impacting service standards
Enforces all appearance and uniform guidelines
Responsible for the maintenance and preventive maintenance of all kitchen and dish room equipment
Maintains the stocking and correct inventory of chemical products
Responsible for the upkeep of proper tools
To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set:
Must be at least 21 years of age
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Requires a minimum of two years' experience in a fast paced, high-volume kitchen through positions of related progressive responsibilities
Understanding of OSHA rules and regulations
Familiarity with MSDS sheets
Excellent interpersonal, communication, coaching, team building and problem solving skills are required
Experience in motivating staff through appropriate incentive programs and training
A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook is beneficial
Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
