Job Description Summary
The Janitor performs cleaning duties to maintain production, office, and laboratory facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize lavatories and wash basins, clean mirrors, fill soap dispensers and paper towel containers.
Collect and dispose of trash.
Sweep and mop floors, making mop water, as required.
Vacuum floors.
Clean tables and put-up chairs, clean refrigerators and microwaves as required during a work shift.
Strip and wax floors, according to the set schedule.
Perform miscellaneous cleaning such as washing lockers, benches, walls, and the vending machine.
Requisition cleaning supplies.
Perform sweeping and cleaning on plant property outside of production buildings.
Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work-rule requirements.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Competencies
Minimum degree and experience required:
Requires the equivalent of a high school degree.
1-3 years of experience in cleaning and janitorial procedures preferred.
Ability to understand oral and written instructions relating to cleaning assignments.
Ability to function as a team member and contribute to group goals.
Ability to operate a variety of cleaning implements such as mops, buckets, brooms, paper towels and rags, trash bags, a vacuum cleaner, scrapers, and waxing tools, and cleaning supplies.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision in a responsible manner.
