Additional Information: This position is located at Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, VA.
Job Details:

The Patient Representative I manages patients in patient registration areas providing both customer and financial services. Patient Representative I will provide services for pre-registration, registration, upfront collections, medical necessity checking and financial counseling, referring those patients to appropriate sources for follow up as needed. Patient Representive I will expedite and facilitate registration efficiently and accurately for all patients and departments at Centra while providing high quality customer service to patients, families, visitors and medical personnel.
EDUCATION
Required:
High school graduate
Preferred:
Some college and/or professional certification
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Required:
Representative must have ability to provide high level of customer service, accurate typing, attention to detail and have superior written and verbal communication skills. Patient registration experience, or experience in emergency room or other medical office environment, or combination of core classwork from an accredited college or university in a medical course of study. Must possess an understanding of and ability to communicate financial and insurance information to patients.
Preferred:
Previous collections experience, or other understanding of financial management of accounts. Proficiency in computerized data entry.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
CHAA PreferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
