POSITION WILL SUPPORT VARIOUS SOUTHERN UTAH BRANCHES
POSITION PURPOSE
Under limited supervision, the Mortgage Loan Officer will proactively solicits new residential mortgage loans and sells MACU mortgage products to meet established loan quality and production goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty successfully.
Develops and maintains successful relationships with business referral sources, existing and prospective for MACU at a beginning level.
Ensures an exceptional member experience by overseeing and executing the loan process from origination to close and providing on-going communication to all parties involved in the loan.
Achieves or exceeds production goals as established by Mountain America Credit Union's Mortgage Department
Interviews applicants to determine their financial needs and objectives.
Reviews and analyzes credit and financial data
Educates borrower on loan products and procedures
Provides information and guidance relevant to the risks and benefits of each qualifying program
Apprises pricing and MACU lock-in policy and procedure; locks rates as required
Implements the AAA MACU philosophy (Access, Advise, Assist)
Collects loan fees and loan documentation
Counsels members who are denied loans regarding their credit and achieving their credit goals
Maintains current and thorough knowledge of all lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements as well as MACU policy and procedures.
Serves as a source of information and consultation to loan officers within their assigned region
Participates department management discussions and relays information to and from the regional group
Performs other duties as assigned

Experience
Two years of service at MACU or similar financial work experience.
Education
High school or equivalent
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations
Active NMLS number. The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Li censing (S.A.F.E) Act requires all mortgage loan orig inators to register on a federal registry. Individuals employed by MACU that are not registered on the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) are barred from originating mortgages.

Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Use interpersonal and communication skills to generate referral business, leads, and relationships with individuals, existing clients, past clients, and Real Estate Professionals.
Language Skills
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents in English such as tax returns, income statements, contracts and documents regarding real estate transactions, loan program guidelines, AUS findings and preliminary title reports. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in English before groups of employees, members, or clients.
Qualified Candidates have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and outstanding customer service is critical to success.
Computer/Office Equipment Skills
Intermediate to Advanced skills in the following: Adding machine/10-Key, computer operating skills (windows navigation, mouse/keyboard functionality), Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite. Must have the ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute
Other Skills and Abilities
Demonstrate knowledge of Reg Z and RESPA regulations.
Ability to analyze title insurance policies and property appraisal reports.
Solid time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
