#### Primary Responsibilities
SGS Automotive Services N.A., a division of SGS Group based in Geneva Switzerland, provides commercial and statutory automotive related services to our clients in the US, Canada, and Mexico. SGS Automotive is a vehicle inspection company for the study, development and application of technologies for motor vehicle testing, diagnostics, repair, technician training, and information management.
Coupled with developing and managing Inspection and Maintenance programs, SGS also provides a wide range of commercial automotive industry inspection services such as New Car, Off-Lease, certified pre-owned, auction, B2B online, and dealer testing, inspection, and certification services.
Coordinates changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. May plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.

#### Reporting to
Reports to the IT Ops Manager
#### Specific responsibilities
1. Analyze, diagnose and correct problems related to the database assets of the company.
2. Analyze server hardware needs and requirements for existing and future programs or
initiatives of the company, and recommend solutions as they relate to architecture and
implementation of the corporate database assets.
3. Analyzes complex data using a variety of database management software tools, and prepare
reports on database performance, reliability, availability, growth and other pertinent
information as defined by company management.
4. Develops and installs database software and builds databases to meet the company needs.
5. Manages the installations, operation, backup, recovery and general maintenance of all
database assets for the company.
6. Develops, reports upon, and manages database and data security, including mitigation of
security issues.
7. Documents installation and maintenance of database software, including the databases
themselves.
8. Develop and document data models and data dictionaries using standard modeling
notations, including IDEFX1 and IE notations.
9. Provides technical support (product recommendation and configuration) as it relates to
corporate database assets.
10. Resolves end user and/or customer issues as they relate to data or database assets.
11. Resolves database performance issues or outage conditions.
12. Continuously endeavor to learn and improve upon IT related skills via self study, self
discovery and/or company sponsored training.
13. Participates in rotation on-call duties, including after hours work and weekends, at the
direction of the IT Operations Manager.
14. Collaborate closely with the other Senior Member staff and the IT Operations Manager on all
new and existing company programs and initiatives.
15. Serve as a Senior Member of the Database Administration staff: provide guidance,
mentoring, training and management of the database administration staff and database
assets of the company.
16. Architect, document and deploy database related solutions for the company and all current
and future programs managed by the company.
17. Own the diagnosis, escalation and mitigation of database issues related to the company and
all current and future programs managed by the company.
18. Own the selection, engagement and coordination with Third Party Vendors as related to company database assets.
#### Profile
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Info. Systems or related field from a nationally accredited 4 yr college where the degree is based upon science, math or empirical knowledge and at least 5 yrs exp. in administration of corporate database assets including architecture, design, installation, monitoring, backup, recovery, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance in a paid FT position is required
4 yrs of additional exp. can be substituted for the Bachelors degree
#### Skills
Expert scripting ability (perl, ksh, csh)
Proficient in Unix and Windows command syntax
General knowledge of network topologies (local LAN and Frame Relay/ATM/MPLS WAN architectures)
Proficient in Microsoft Windows based workstations, Office suite, and general local or Web based software tools
Expert knowledge in architecture, use, configuration, support and maintenance of Oracle RDBMS including Oracle 9i, 10g, 11g and beyond
Expert knowledge in disaster recovery architectures w/in Oracle environment, including use, configuration, maintenance and monitoring of Logical and Physical Standby Databases
Proficient in architecture, use, configuration, support and maintenance of Oracle related products (DataGuard, Real Application Clusters, Recovery Mgr, Oracle Enterprise Mgr, Connection Mgr, Database Control, Grid Control, Application Server/xpress, Streams)
General knowledge in use, configuration, support and maintenance of open source database platforms, including MySQL database (version 5.1 or greater)
Proficient knowledge of machine virtualization and how database assets behave w/in Virtual Machines environments and their surrounding host environment, including use of Virtual IP addressing and highly available client connectivity
Proficient knowledge in database principles for operating systems including Linux variants (Suse, RedHat, CentOS, etc.), Windows and Unix variants (AIX, Solaris)
Proficient knowledge of Oracle TNS connectivity, including use and configuration of Oracle Connection Mgr, use and configuration of highly available connectivity options for clients (TAF) and methods for tracing connectivity issues
Proficient knowledge of Security issues in a database environment, including intrusion detection, monitoring, reporting and mitigation
Expert in methods of backing up and recovering Oracle RDBMS databases, including incomplete and complete recovery, cloning methods and recovery to alternative targets
Proficient knowledge of Oracle Support, how to manage Service Requests and support cases thru to resolution
Expert in debugging and tracing methodologies (including interpretation of findings) w/in Oracle RDBMS environment
Expert understanding of data replication methods w/in Oracle (creation of custom PL/SQL, Export, Import, DataPump, and Streams)
Proficient in use and syntax of Structured Query Language
Proficient in the design, syntax, coding, debugging, deployment and maintenance of Oracle PL/SQL programs, packages, procedures and functions
#### Additional information
Desired: Oracle Specific Certifications (Oracle Certified Associate, Professional, and Master); Certified MySQL Associate, Developer, and DBA
Infrequent travel to company locations, corporate offices, offsite data centers, hosting facilities and company affiliate locations required.
Must successfully pass drug test/background check

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
