## Position Description
Introduction:
The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer.
Job
Summary: Develop and evaluate requirements and design for netted sensor and combat systems from Integrated Fire Control systems engineering and operational points of view.
Duties (Listed in order of importance with the estimated amount of time spent at each task):
1. Perform kill chain end-to-end performance analysis at need-dependent levels of fidelity to assess integrated fire control architecture variants, i.e., impact of changes to sensor, network, and shooter combinations. (50%)
2. Understand and analyze various aspects of combat and weapon system functionality as related to integration with networks providing IFC-capable sensor data. (15%)
3. Understand and analyze multi-faceted sensor (individual and netted ) performance metrics as related to the needs of the combat and weapon systems. (15%)
4. Use and improve existing IFC M&S; analysis capabilities and develop new ones as warranted for the specific mission (10%)
5. Formally document concepts, analyses results, system requirements as needed. Present new concepts, results, etc to individual and, at times, multiple government sponsors for IFC element systems and system of systems. (10%)

## Qualifications
Required Qualifications: BS in EE, Mathematics, Physics, or comparable technical field with at least 3 years of experience. Strong analytical and logical skills and attention to detail. Experience with the Cooperative Engagement Capability, Navy combat systems, sensors, and weapon systems. Understanding of warfighter environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to perform effectively as part of a team and have strong leadership skills.

Qualifications: MS desired. Experience and background in some or all of the following: Familiarity with C, C++, and MATLAB modeling. Familiarity with algorithms for tracking, correlation, data association, sensor registration, Kalman filtering, classification and data management.
Special Working Conditions: Travel three days a month to remote sites, working in closed areas, occasional extended hours.
Security: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
