Gerdau is currently seeking a Production Operators for its Huntington, IN facility.

Responsibilities:
Heat Treat Line Operators - Quench and temper, induction electric heat treating. Problem solve heat treat issues. Possesses a high overall knowledge of line operations. Good understanding of metallurgical and heat treating principles. Assures that customer requirements and specifications are met. Directs and leads the line operators on turn. Prepares and performs testing of samples used in quality check. Operate all testing equipment. Verification of gauging and measurement equipment. Prepares and performs testing of samples used in quality check. Operate all testing equipment. Verification of all gauging and measurement equipment. Performs basic preventative maintenance, troubleshoots and corrects/repairs equipment malfunctions and breakdowns. General knowledge and practical performance abilities in electricity, welding, pneumatic and heat treat water systems.

Turning and Mult Cutting Operators - Trim ends of bar stock, inspect loads for quality assurance, load trucks, and run straightener. Turning line operator experience preferred. Under general supervision, operates and performs set-ups and tool changes on a limited range of CNC and conventional machines (Turning/Polishing). Under general supervision, sets-up, operates and maintains lathe, mill, drills, either CNC or conventional type. Operates several types of equipment (Lathe, Mill) at the current efficiency rate for that job and machine. Inspects parts to mechanical drawing ensuring tolerances are maintained using appropriate inspection tools and following approved inspection criteria. Material handling
Responsibilities: includes packaging, driving fork truck and operating a hoist

Inspection and Finishing - Problem solve Inspection/Finishing issues. Trimming ends, painting ends, checking for cracks. Possesses overall knowledge of I & F operations. Assures that customer requirements and specifications are met. Assures high productivity and quality levels are maintained. Performs operation and use of gauges and measurement tools such as Micrometers, dial calipers, 3' straight edge, feeler gauges and gauss meter. Performs testing equipment verification. Performs basic preventative maintenance, troubleshoots and corrects/repairs equipment

General
Responsibilities:
Maintain quality and production records (Excel and Information Database)
Prepare and perform inline testing and measurements and record the results.
Load and unload flatbed trucks with overhead crane and load and unload trucks via forklift. Must be able to learn how to operate an overhead crane and drive a forklift (bonus if they already have training but will teach them)

Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
2 years production work experience in manufacturing/industrial environment OR education (classes)
Must be available to work any shift without limitations (including weekends, holidays and mandatory overtime)
Must be able to pass written math assessment
Intermediate computer skills in Excel or similar database program (SQL experience a plus)
Quench and temper experience a plus!
Crane, forklift and/or CNC experience preferred (not required)

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
