Job Summary
The Produce Assistant is responsible for assisting the Produce Manager in the successful operation and profitability of the produce department. This position has limited MOD responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Inventory/Inventory Manager
The Produce is responsible for assisting the Produce Manager in ensuring that:
Inventory levels are maintained within company standards
Product is ordered from the correct vendor
In-stock conditions meet company standards
Markdowns are done per company standards
Daily Department Conditions
The Produce Assistant is responsible for ensuring that he/she and the department staff are following company policies, procedures and standards for:
Tagging, Facing, Rotating, Ordering, Cleanliness, Stocking, Backstock, and Returns
Product Knowledge:
The Produce Assistant is responsible for ensuring that:
He/she continues to increase product knowledge throughout their tenure
Provides knowledge based customer service at the highest level at all times
Management of Department Personnel:
The Produce Assistant is responsible for assisting the Produce Manager with the management of department personnel
MOD (Manager on Duty)
Responsibilities:
The Produce Assistant is required to fulfill the following Manager on Duty (MOD) duties as assigned: Shift MOD

Qualifications:
Previous retail experience in a grocery or retail environment; natural foods background a plus
Previous experience in a produce function is preferred
Must be able to pass a background check
Possesses a sense of urgency in the completion of tasks
Possesses excellent customer service skills
Is highly organized with great attention to detail
Ability to stay focused with the task at hand
Ability to take direction and follow through
Must be cashier trained.
Physical Requirements:
1. Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs, repetitive lifting up to 30 lbs.
2. Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs.
3. Requires the use of both arms and both hands with full range of motion.
4. Must be able to bend at the waist and knees, twist, push and pull.
5. Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb as needed.
6. Must be able to reach overhead and away from the body.
7. Must be able to stand for at least 90% of the time.
8. Must be able to walk for at least 90% of the time.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
