Job Description
The Jackson Laboratory, located in Bar Harbor, ME is seeking an SQA Engineer for software quality assurance activities for research, science and business applications in regulated and unregulated environments. The SQA Engineer will review functional requirements documentation; design test plans, write test cases, oversee test strategies and perform testing for assigned applications. The SQA Engineer will submit and verify defects, communicate project and testing status to internal and external teams and test database interactions.

Required Skills
Analyze system requirements and identify testing strategies that maximize test coverage and/or improve system reliability and performance
Prepare detailed test plans and test cases, and consult with business analysts on testing options and strategies, including applicable regulatory requirements
Execute and monitor testing activities and ensure they are completed as expected
Track, report and verify software defects to ensure the resolution of issues found
Develop and execute validation plans for major system activities including new system installations, upgrades, and other change events
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
Knowledge and experience with system/database design and architecture, change control, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models, and Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies is required
2-5 years of experience with systems design, development, testing, implementation and support
Experience in the validation of computer systems used in clinical and non-clinical trials (e.g., LIMS, Clinical Data Management) is desirable
