to support a small community when the Postmaster is on leave or not available.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operates a small, single unit postal facility supervising a small size group of carriers and/or clerks in the performance of
distribution, delivery, and window services.
2. Implements and adheres to approved programs as they apply to local requirements; operates within established postal
rules, laws, and regulations.
3. Submits and monitors a small operating budget.
4. Trains new employees to ensure quality service.
5. Ensures that proper safeguards are instituted for the welfare of customers and the protection of the mails.6. Maintains files and records and submits reports.7. May personally handle window transactions and perform distribution tasks as the workload requires.
8. Has regular contact with postal customers.
9. Exercises normal protective care of accountable paper, building equipment, and office supplies.
10. Follows established safe work methods, procedures and safety precautions while performing all duties.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION

This is a temporary, non-career position. PSE positions may perform a variety of duties in addition to the position described
in one or more of the following craft areas, to support day to day operations of the USPS: Mail Processing, Retail/Customer
Services, Maintenance, and Motor Vehicle.
PSE Post Office Clerks will fill-in for the Postmaster when they are on leave, or not available. They supervise and provide
any combination of window, box, general delivery, rural route, highway contract route, or city delivery services for a small
community. Must be able to lift up to 70lbs and also have computer experience. Other duties include sorting mail, doing
daily, weekly, and quarterly reports on the computer, working the front window counter, selling stamps and weighing
utgoing packages. This is a non-career position used when a career employee is not able to fill in on a higher level detail

You will be required to pass an Entrance Exam, Drug Screen, Medical Assessment, and Window Training. Postal Support
Employees (PSEs) hold temporary appointments for periods not-to-exceed 360 days. Subsequent appointments after a
5-day break in service are not guaranteed and should not be expected because the use of PSEs is discretionary and subject
to business needs.
Limited benefits include raises, paid vacation days and access to health insurance after the first 360-day term.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
