Job Description is looking for a part-time Webmaster to produce local news and sports content, specificallysomeone who can both spot trends and create them. The job includes turning quick on-air stories into in-depth written content, developing your own stories and leads, covering breaking news, running multiple social media feeds on Twitter and Facebook and engaging the audience there, occasionally creating videos and photo galleries.
Required Skills/
Experience:
Excellent writing/editing and communication skills; at least basic photography and video editing. Enthusiasm and a good attitude with the ability to work well with many different personality types is essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of the overall CBS Detroit digital team. A flexible schedule is required, with the ability to work nights and weekends. Accuracy on tight deadlines is mandatory.Social media skills with an excellent understanding of Facebook and Twitter are required.
Required Qualifications Journalism background is a plus; wordpress experience is desirable; Photoshop knowledge is essential; at least basic video editing skills preferable.
