We have an immediate contract opportunity for a Microstrategy Administrator, with one of our F500 clients in PLEASANTON, CA
Description
The individual will perform administration of the large-scale, high availability Microstrategy environments that support headquarters and store users worldwide. As a Microstrategy Administrator you will:
o Perform administration of the large-scale, high availability Microstrategy environments that support store users worldwide.
o Create Microstrategy projects in various environments to facilitate development and testing.
o Maintain project and object level security consistent with project requirements in consultation with senior administrator, architects and project teams.
o Follow change management process to migrate Microstrategy projects and objects between QA, UAT, and Production environments.
o Work closely with report domain architects, and suggest configuration and process changes to improve the reliability, scalability, and supportability of the Microstrategy environment.
o Coordinate with the project teams to ensure DEV, QA, UAT environments are stable to maximize availability for development and testing.
o Work with network/system monitoring teams to ensure that adequate environment health checks are implemented to identify possible issues before they impact users.
o Monitor server and report performance (e.g., are servers running at high capacity or low capacity? are SLAs being met?).
o Assist in developing capacity planning model for the Microstrategy environment. Measure the utilization and provide reports monthly showing user usage and system utilization vs. capacity.
o Plan and execute patches, minor and major release upgrades for all Microstrategy products (IS, Narrowcast, Web Server, Mobile Server)
o Work with other IT departments like Portal and LDAP teams for Microstrategy environment integration with their application.
o Train onshore and offshore production support engineers on how to handle administration issues and application performance monitoring.
o Define/build enterprise manager reports to support project needs and to monitor health of the Microstrategy environment.
o Work closely with project developers and Gap IT problem and incident management teams to ensure timely resolution of production issues (on-call rotation) and root cause analysis. .
o Willing to learn and support other BI Tools - Crystal, Cognos.
o Maintain scripts and documentation related to software licensing, ensuring that the environment remains compliant with licensing agreements.
Qualifications
o Minimum two years of experience in large-scale, high availability, end to end MicroStrategy Business Intelligence application administration. 5
years hands-on experience with reporting tools.
o Microstrategy Certified Platform Administration (CPA) certification strongly desirable.
o BA/BS or equivalent experience working in a systems administration and/or production support environment.
o Provide support to L2/L3 application production support team members whenever necessary.
o Familiarity with basic Windows and Unix system administration principles. Shell scripting experience is desirable. SQL scripting experience is a plus.
o Experience in an Agile environment is desirable.
o Must be a self-starter, highly business focused, have the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
o Must possess trouble-shooting skills and an ability to successfully fulfill business information delivery needs.
o Learns quickly when facing new problems, enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks, and is willing to experiment and try anything to find solutions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
