Controls Engineer-Gas Turbines/PLC/Design

Controls and Accessories Manager needed for an international company that manufactures, sells and supports aero-derivative gas turbines for marine propulsion, mechanical drive and power generation applications. This is a permanent position located in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
Responsibilities for the Controls Engineer
Design, develop and qualify state-of-the-art control systems for company's gas turbines
Work with vendors, internal customers and external customers to manage design and development activities in accordance with budget and schedule, and ensure technical requirements are achieved as specified
Lead and manage customer funded projects relating to controls and accessories for marine and industrial applications. Includes initial feasibility studies, contract definition, commissioning activities, schedule fidelity, profitability, cash flow management (including payables and receivables), subcontractor management, and customer interface
Provide controls and electrical support during start-up/commissioning phase for company's industrial and marine engines and systems
Provide prompt technical support for service revealed difficulties relating to controls and accessories. Includes performing Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) tasks, developing and implementing technical solutions and following up on success of these solutions to ensure that problems are resolved and in a cost effective manner
Provide clear up-front definition of technical requirements for controls and accessories when changing suppliers and/or developing new products. Includes providing interface control documents, procurement specifications and statements of work
Provide on-site controls and electrical support during commissioning phase for company's industrial and marine engines and systems
Requirements for the Controls Engineer
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
10
years of hands-on experience with gas turbine engines, controls, accessories and/or data acquisition. Experienced with both analog and digital control systems
5
years experience with developing new products applicable to gas turbine engine controls and accessories
Experience with use of MatLab and Simulink for model based design, analysis and testing
Experience with project planning software, such as MS Project, Excel or similar tools
Experience with use of commercially available systems (PLC's, PAC's) for closed loop control systems
