Description: LSI has an exciting opportunity for a part-time (24-31 hours/week)Native Families Recruiter - NF4NCin Sioux City.
Duties: The Native Families Recruiter is responsible for the recruitment of Native American families to serve as resource families for Native American children coming into care, including completing the initial licensing process for prospective foster families and approval process for prospective adoption families. This entails generating the interest of families who will meet service area priority needs and supporting them through orientation, training, writing and submitting the home study packet, and until they receive their first placement.
This position is also responsible for working with families to complete assigned new home studies for resource, relative and/or adoptive within project timelines. The position requires the individual to become very familiar with licensing rules and adoption rules through the Department of Human Services, Iowa code and tribal, state and federal IV-E requirements. Must obtain Children-s Alliance certification as a PS-MAPP leader and facilitate training for resource families.
Qualifications: Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor-s degree in social work or a related field. Additionally, applicants must have a minimum of two years of experience within the child welfare field is required.
Required: Acceptable driving record, valid driver''s license and vehicle insurance to meet agency requirements. Ability to pass extensive background checks.
