Responsible for the management of student safety department operations, in compliance with government and management directives and federal, state and local regulations to include fire codes. Evaluate performance of staff and provide staff training . Develop and monitor staff schedules for 24-hour and 7-day-a-week coverage. Develop and maintain center Safety plan and the Emergency and Disaster plan and conduct the yearly risk assessment survey. Act as a liaison with federal, state and local law enforcement and fire safety officials as well as industrial safety manager of local facilities. Serve as a liaison between center and immediate community. Conduct periodic fire drills, safety and security inspections, audits and spot checks to identify deficiencies and recommend changes. Investigate all employee and student accident/injury reports to insure accuracy. Coordinate with center staff concerning safety and security programs. Assist in development of new and revised policies and procedures affecting safety. Clearly communicate and consistently model appropriate employability skills including personal responsibility and computer fluency. Maintains accountability of students, and property, adheres to safety practices, and performs safety inspections in area of responsibility. Performs other duties, as assigned. Bachelor''s degree in criminal justice, political science or related field and two years or related experience, one of which must be in a supervisory capacity. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements. Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
