Position
Summary: The Laboratory Technician is responsible providing analytical data in support of the Processing Department ensuring that all TTB and Quality Control parameters are met and within specified limits. The position requires the ability to show competency in the fundamental chemistry techniques of; proofing by densitometry, distillation, pH measurement, gravimetric analysis and hydrometric analysis. The position also requires a keen organoleptic sense for the alcoholic beverages produced at Barton 1792 Distillery. Communication skills are necessary to ensure analytical results are relayed to the proper Processing personnel. Data management in written and electronic form is required to ensure proper TTB reporting procedures are adhered to. Finished imported products are evaluated to ensure adherence to TTB regulations and also package Quality specifications are maintained.
Primary Activities
Evaluate processing tank data for product specific analysis such as, proof by Density Meter (DMA). Quantitative distillation of high solids products with subsequent analysis by DMA. Measurement of proof obscuration by dissolved solids using gravimetric procedures. Determination of the specific gravity of products using specific gravity hydrometers or brix hydrometers. Reporting of results to either processing operators or processing management personnel. Spectrophotometric and pH measurement. Ability obtain repeatable and accurate results using quantitative distillation procedures and wet chemistry methods.
A minimum of an Associate's degree in a technical discipline is required. Bachelor's or higher degree preferred. A functional working knowledge of mathematics and scientific technique is required. Operational skill with the Microsoft Office Suite software programs Word and Excel. Interpersonal communication skills required to ensure results are relayed to the appropriate customer i.e. Processing, Distillery, Warehousing, etc.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
