This client is looking to hire a Foundry Process Engineer for their South Bend, IN facility.
This Foundry Process Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating permanent mold casting equipment, processes and training qualified operators to ensure proper and safe use of all production equipment. This position is responsible for contributing to a safe work place and minimizing negative impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, work instructions outlined in the EHSMS Training Assessment for this position.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:

Accounts for analysis of new castings applications including tooling and casting machine operation.
Maintains liaison with engineering and manufacturing in process development and with existing products.
Actively involved in productivity improvement projects and process equipment rebuilds as well as upgrades.
Maintains records and data to improve current processes and have history.
Performs engineering assignments relating to product design, analyzing new and existing products.
Performs engineering research and development work on assigned projects to revise/improve process capability.
Monitors and trains personnel in proper OSHA standards and to improve health and safety.
Ensures compliance with all EHSMS policies and procedures.
Instructs on safe work practices and promotes safety consciousness while practicing safety procedures, enforcing policy regarding safety and making recommendations when needed.
Sees that company policies and programs are effectively made known; cooperates and assists in the development of effective communications.
Promotes a positive employer-employee relation.
Maintains departmental efficiency regarding timeliness and quality of reports and procedural requirements.
Maintains inter-departmental relationships of such a caliber as to promote confidence, integrity and cooperation.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor?s degree in Engineering or similar educational background preferred.

Experience:
Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
Demonstrates leadership ability, conflict resolution and problem solving
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of management and hourly employees.
Experience within a foundry environment and heavy industrial environment.
One to three years of experience in permanent mold die casting is desirable but not necessary.
Must have familiarity with Auto CAD and/or Pro-E.
Must be familiar with general engineering practices, e.g., blueprint reading, hydraulics and pneumatics, etc.
Must be able to clearly and directly communicate at all levels of the company through reports, training sessions, telephone, etc.
Must be willing to travel 10%-15%
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
