ER Associates is recruiting for a Production Manager with Barilla Foods. This exciting opportunity is an immediate, full time-direct hire position with a dynamic industry leader!The successful candidate must have strong technical production knowledge as well as team leadership and problem solving acumen.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Production Manageris primarily responsible for managing all aspects of the pasta production process, including work flow, yields, and per unit cost of manufacturing while ensuring that quality and safety standards within processing and packaging are adhered to. The Production Manager is also responsible for personnel administration including the provision of leadership, direction and development for/to all production staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
Support the Plant Associate Director in defining the budget and the medium term economic plans of the production and packaging lines.
Take part in the definition of the short and medium term Investment Plans. In particular, evaluate and manage, together with the Plant Maintenance Department, the interventions to improve the results of each production and packaging phase and to take maximum advantage of equipment potential.
Constantly monitor the progress of the assigned production programs; coordinate the operators? activity in the phases of results analysis, the detection of gap causes and the implementation of appropriate solutions.
Manage the operators work schedule together with the Plant Human Capital Manager (shifts, holidays, etc.).
Define all the training and organizational development programs for the professional growth of production and packaging line operators and ensure that they are implemented.
Monitor, with the help of the Quality Assurance Lab, the quality of the incoming durum wheat semolina and of the production and packaging process with regards to the assigned quality standards.
Agree with the Maintenance department, the plan of programmed Maintenance interventions and the plan of spare parts purchases.
Consolidate the financial year accounts at every deadline, paying attention that data is collected according to the company management system.
Ensure that all the processing and packaging activities are carried out in conformity with the laws, Barilla America safety standards, and product hygiene standards.
Work and communicate well with others and effectively contribute to the working relationships within Barilla America.
Define the environmental policy for the Barilla Ames facility as well as lead by example in their commitment to comply with environmental regulations and the continuous improvement of the pollution prevention / sustainable processes at the plant.
Comply with the environmental policies and procedures at Barilla Ames facility including energy efficiency, reduce ? re-use ? recycle goals, reporting requirements and sustainable initiatives. Complete any environmental tasks as assigned and report environmental concerns immediately.
Follows ISO22000 policies and procedures, address / communicate quality and food safety issues as they occur.
KEY SKILLS, ABILITIES & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
BS in Management or a related field
A minimum of 5 years? experience in a management level role in a production or manufacturing environment.
Good math skills and a mechanical background are helpful for this position.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
