Job Description
MAJOR FUNCTION:
Plan, develop and implement quality projects for improved product quality. Support Toro''s Total Quality process. The prime objective of this position is defect prevention through a systems approach to manufacturing control. Second, this position is responsible for the identification and analysis of chronic quality problems and for ensuring corrective action.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Application of Process Controls
Determine process control need based on process knowledge.
Coordinate approval and implementation of process controls.
Monitor effectiveness of process controls and revise as needed.
Discuss intent and necessity of process controls with all concerned to ensure effective implementation.
Training and Development
Train employees in areas that relate specifically to improvements in job knowledge, i.e. welding symbols, proper use of tools, inspection equipment, etc.
Development & Implementation of Quality Program
Interpret Toro specifications.
Perform design reviews for manufacturability & necessary process control.
Develop quality plans which may involve design of new quality systems.
Coordinate approval of quality projects and inspection equipment.
Application of Inspection Equipment
Determine and specify inspection equipment based on its accuracy, repeatability and efficiency.
Apply various special setup inspection techniques.
Ensure that specialized inspection equipment designs are adequate for the checks intended.
Data Analysis & Application of Statistical Techniques
Design original sampling plans for unique applications.
Determine statistical techniques to solve manufacturing and engineering problems.
Participate in development of product inspection procedures which ensure quality requirements are met and which may contain unique inspection techniques.
Support of Product Cost Control
Analyze failure costs and initiate corrective action.
Analyze quality costs and implement efficiency improvements.
Control assigned budgets.
Submit product improvement and cost reduction proposals.
Participate in capital planning.
General Position Characteristics
Assignments involve independent judgment and creativity in making adaptions and modifications to standard eng. techniques.
Work is performed under limited supervision with latitude for unreviewed action.
Objectives are usually well defined and methods of achieving are usually known to a reasonable degree.
Incumbents may assist supervisors in planning & scheduling the assignments.
May train and direct the work of other personnel.
Supports other quality functions in technical areas as needed.
Supports and participates in employee involvement groups.
Must be able to effectively supervise department personnel on an as needed basis.
Facilitates and support employee involvement, line quality, warranty and self-directed work teams. Coordinates once a year team updates to the Tomah management staff.

QUALITY ENGINEER - Grade 12

ASSOCIATE QUALITY ENGINEER - Grade 11
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 1
years of technical experience in a similar manufacturing environment. An understanding of quality-engineering requirements; quality systems; diversified fabrication process; and product acceptance techniques, as applied to mechanical devices. Experience in an ISO 9000 certified facility.


Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a Certified Quality Control Engineering/Technician. 0-1 years of technical experience in a similar manufacturing environment. An understanding of quality-engineering requirements; quality systems; diversified fabrication process; and product acceptance techniques, as applied to mechanical devices. Experience in an ISO 9000 certified facility.
Required Experience
QUALITY ENGINEER - Grade 12

ASSOCIATE QUALITY ENGINEER - Grade 11

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
