Supervises and coordinates activities of nursing team members on the evening, night, and weekend shifts. Acts as the designated leadership on assigned shift. Serves as a liaison for nursing leadership.
Essential Functions
Rounds on all units to assess overall efficiency and productivity and gain insight into patient care, team members, and physician satisfaction and appropriateness of patient care.
Functions as a clinical resource by assisting nursing team members with assignment and organization of unit/patient care activities, evaluation of patient care and problem solving to meet patient care needs.
Assists with appropriate utilization of resources.
Promotes relationships between nurses and physicians and facilitates coordination of nursing care with other disciplines.
Participates with performance improvement activities. Participates with the collection and analysis of data pertinent to the healthcare consumer''s health or the situation in a systematic and ongoing process utilizing evidence based assessment techniques.
Supervises the performance of nursing team, identifies problems, and initiates corrective action.
Provides assistance to nurses in administering new or unusual treatments or medications.
Interprets policies and procedures for team members, patients, families, and visitors.
Responds and assists with emergencies.
Coordinates shift management of patient flow.
Monitors team member''s for the current and upcoming shifts through continuous assessment.
Identifies educational and team member development needs.
Assists with the recruitment, retention, and coordination of qualified team members.
Assists in employing strategies and techniques to foster health promotion, health teaching and provision of other educational services/resources.
Physical Requirements
Requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment and supplies. Must speak English in good, understandable terms. Intact sense of sight and hearing. Finger dexterity. Critical thinking and ability to concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited school required. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of North Carolina, South Carolina or compact state required. 3 years nursing experience including 1 year in management preferred. Certification in specialty required or obtained upon eligibility. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
