Octagon is looking for a business savvy Marketing Communications Executive to join our successful Events & Hospitality team. The successful candidate will focus on the long term and day-to-day marketing, promotions and public relations efforts for one world class LPGA Golf event. The key responsibilities of this position will be developing and managing the full life marketing cycle of said events on behalf of our clients as well as to manage, intern and or limited term reports. The Account Manager will develop marketing plans, manage program budgets and marketing materials, secure/manage program vendors, oversee program execution and interface with clients and professionals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Work with Tournament Director to develop, coordinate and manage timeline of Creative Services, Promotions, Media Partnerships and Public Relations needs for each Event
Maximize the value of the event through strategy, planning & program development; budget management; execution, and measurement/evaluation
Strategy, Planning & Program Development
Act as the project/traffic manager while partnering with the creative department to ensure all necessary promotional materials, collateral, etc. are on target and on time
Create and implement advance and on-site promotions for each Event working with Corporate and Media Partners to maximize Event exposure
Manage on-site activities including live broadcasts and remotes
Oversee development and implementation of Media Plan including management of all media partnerships finalizing trade/cash relationships where appropriate and fulfill all elements of each partnership
Compile and maintain up-to-date local and national media lists, communicating with them throughout the year
Identify and implement effective social media campaigns including interactive elements
Establish effective media relationships on a local and national level to secure coverage from a wide range of mediums
Work with News Editors and Sports Editors to secure coverage from all local mediums
Organize and host Media Day in advance
Write and distribute press releases throughout year based on logical schedule
Manage and operate On-Site Media Center at each Tournament
Budget Management
Manage marketing elements of tournament budget and provide necessary status reports and recaps to Tournament Director
Serve as the primary point of contact for , media, television, client, vendors and host clubs
Supervision of limited terms/event coordinators on site
o Create recap documents of each tournament including hard data, key metrics, and recommendations
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
2-4+ years' experience in related field or in event marketing
Proven success in building positive client relationships as well as managing "up and down"
A desire to manage partner relationships including vendors, suppliers
Business development support: interest and willingness to support growth opportunities for clients and Octagon
Capacity to become an expert on client's brand and the state of client's industry
Previous collaboration experience with internal and/or external groups
Desire and confidence to become a presenter of materials to clients
Experience managing and maintaining a budget or budgets
Demonstrated ability to effectively problem solve and work effectively under pressure while working as both part of a team as well as independently
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to communicate clearly and professionally. A writing and PowerPoint assignment will be a part of the hiring process
Proficiency with Microsoft Office with the possibility of specific skill set depending upon position (i.e. PP, Excel)
Collaborative in nature with a "no job is too small" attitude to assist with overall account team duties and additional programs as needed
Ability and flexibility to travel and weekend/holiday work as needed approximately 25%

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
