Salary: $18.70 Plus Experience Allowance
Job Details:
Performs a variety of standardized tests, including specialized tests appropriate to the discipline of the assigned laboratory section. Processes specimens where and when necessary. Prepares the specimen and decides the suitability of the specimen for the requested test. Performs maintenance and troubleshooting on instrumentation used for testing. Performs tests, determines and calculates results. Reviews results for accuracy before releasing them. Maintains proper records. Investigate alternative procedures, where appropriate, and reviews results with the supervisor. Evaluates new test methods and instrumentation.
Education Requirements
A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university including courses in
biological science, chemistry and mathematics AND successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Science program.
Minimum Experience Requirements
None
Minimum Licensure/Certification/Registration Requirements
MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) is required within 1 year of hire. Employees classified as working PRN are excluded.
Physical Requirements
Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Constantly (67 - 100%25): Computer Usage, Vision, Hearing (phones, call lights, respirators), Touch (tactile), and Smell (fire/smoke, potential infections, assessment of odors)
Occasionally (1 - 33%25): Bending, Reaching, Squatting, Stooping, and Twisting
Rarely (
Will frequently lift up to 10 lbs, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, and rarely lift above 100
lbs
Will frequently pull up to 10 lbs, occasionally pull up to 50 lbs, and rarely pull up to 100
lbs
Will frequently push up to 10 lbs, occasionally push up to 50 lbs, and rarely push up to 100
lbs
