Summary:
The Linux Middleware Engineer will provide direct support for the implementation of the Connectivity Program. Responsible to coordinate and control the implementation into production will require someone with a keen eye for detail, retain technical knowledge and be able to create technical documentation in support of the Connectivity Program. They must be able to prioritize their work and communicate to executive, program and support leadership on the middleware build status. This position will report to the Manager of Software Configuration Management Center of Excellence.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.
Work directly with external vendors to bring into production the Connectivity Program suite of business services Support Management Ready Application (MRA) process, documenting all the procedures to Build and Run business services Follow the Release and Change processes, supporting the Program Manager, Release Manager and IT Operations technical teams to implement business services Maintain and resolve technical issues, submitting Service, Release and Change Requests on behalf of the vendors, Development and IT Operations Track Software Packages, Version Control and Licensing for all Connectivity Program environments Support performance testing, providing reports from Alert management and Monitoring (HP OSS monitoring suite) Document and monitor Capacity on an ongoing basis Publish Knowledge Base articles to maintain business service Availability Act as the primary on-call to support the Connectivity Program implementation Actively monitor Service Request queues for Tasks related to the Connectivity Program Occasional travel will be required Other duties as assigned
Skills:
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required.
REQUIRED:
College degree in computer science or equivalent education and experience
4
years' experience with Linux operating systems (Red Hat)
Hands on experience with virtualization of Linux systems on VMware Excellent Communication Skills

Experience with HP OSS Alert, Monitoring and Configuration Management.
