About This Position
Job
Summary:
The Charge Nurse is a Registered Nurse who assists the Nurse Manager/Director in the coordination, direction and evaluation of patient care, unit and staff activities on assigned shift. Will be asked to assist in personnel management.
Require Patient Population tab: Yes
Experience
Minimum - Two (2) year experience as an RN in an Emergency Room acute care setting. No Charge Nurse experience required.
Preferred - Previous charge R.N./supervisory experience preferred.
Education
Minimum - Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
Special Skills
Demonstrates organizational skill and leadership ability. Required to be flexible in scheduling, i.e., weekends, holiday, on call and floating. Demonstrates the ability to understand the unique infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population and effectively meet those needs relative to growth, assessment and development of the patients.
Licensure
Required: RN = Registered Nurse license from the State of NV Nursing Board.
CT CPRBLS = Basic Life Support CPR.
CT CPRACLS = Advanced Life Support CPR.
CT CPRPALS = Pediatric Advanced Life Support CPR within 6 months of hire.
TNCC = Trauma Nurse Core Course within 6 months of hire.
Preferred: Certification in Specialty Area.
