Starfish Retention Solutions, Inc., a fast-growing student success company based in Arlington, VA (near Metro), is seeking someone to join a quickly growing, dedicated team of Information Technology professionals supporting a growing higher education technology company.
Duties and Responsibilities
Configure laptops, phones, and other devices for new employees.
Support the office network environment including routing, switching, and VPN access.
Provide IT helpdesk support to Starfish employees with questions about laptops, phones, anti-virus, and other general questions.
Support automated backup and recovery solution utilizing Crashplan.
Conduct audits of employee laptops to verify they conform to IT & Security policy.
Onsite Server maintenance for Virtual Machine hosts. (VirtualBox)
Update IT inventory and audit devices.
Help develop and execute company offsite backup and disaster recovery plan.
Support Active Directory, Windows Domain Controllers, and policy updates.
Take ownership of user problems and follow up on their status on behalf of the user; communicate progress in a timely manner.
Diagnose hardware, software, and operator problems and take appropriate remedial actions; document installation and configuration procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
University degree in technology or relevant IT work experience preferred.
One or all of the following certifications MCT/MCP, Network+, A
desired but not required
Demonstrated proficiency with Apple Mac productsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
