Summary: This position is responsible for managing the accounting department staff and the financial records for the bank. Also, to ensure that all accounting policies and procedures are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the preparation of financial statements and reports for management and maintain accurate accounting records.
Ensure consistent accuracy of financial statements, reports and accounting records.
Supervise accounting personnel and distribute daily work flow.
Manage all aspects of the financial control system for the bank.
Maintain and assist in the development of automated accounting systems and procedures.
Assure that the banks control systems (general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, investments, etc.) are functioning properly and in compliance with the banks policies and procedures.
Update the accounting policies and procedures as needed.
Train, motivate and evaluate accounting staff, and direct personnel in changes affecting the department or its functions.
Assure all departmental deadlines are met.
Monthly preparation of all projections, including interest rate risk. Prepare accurate reports for review by CFO.
Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality standards.
Effectively work and cooperate with supervisors, co-workers and customers.
Follow the direction of supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience required.
Experience in Accounting/Business Administration or related area providing a working knowledge of accounting practices.
Proficient computer skills including Windows 7, MS Office, Word, Excel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This work is sedentary and requires the following physical activities:
Sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
Frequent lifting (up to 10 pounds of paper supplies or minor office equipment).
Driving to client locations and other sites as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment. Most functions are completed in a sitting position in an office environment with frequent movement to printers and other areas/departments. Most activities also require the use of a computer keyboard and screen. Other activities include the ability to reach such as in filing and to lift and carry up to 10 pounds such as files, etc. Communications can be completed over the telephone, through voice-mail or e-mail. Normal noise levels include telephones, computers and normal customer activity.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
