POSITION MAY BE LOCATED IN CHARLOTTE, NC OR SAN FRANCISCO, CA
The accounting policy consultant directs company-wide accounting policy to ensure consistent and uniform accounting policies are developed and implemented throughout the Company in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP) and international financial reporting standards (IFRS), as applicable.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing accounting technical assistance on Company and line of business transactions for general banking activities, including loans, allowance for credit losses, and leases
- Providing technical advice, research or training to business lines and/or lower level accounting positions regarding complex accounting issues
- Serving as liaison for accounting issues with both internal and external audit staffs, and banking regulators
- Preparing and/or reviewing communications to external and internal audit
- Evaluating and interpreting current and proposed accounting literature with respect to current developments of standard setters, including FASB, EITF, AICPA, SEC and banking regulators
- Participation in the preparation and/or reviewing of comment letters to accounting and regulatory standard setters
- Recommending changes to the Company s accounting policies and standards based on changes in US GAAP or IFRS, SEC or other regulatory guidance
- Articulating impact of policy changes to business lines and cross-functional teams
- Reviewing internally-developed financial reports including consolidated and subsidiary financial statements, footnotes and other external disclosures
- Providing or assisting with in-depth business analysis and developing long-term strategies to optimize business line or company performance
- Managing, co-managing, or acting as a technical consultant on the implementation of complex accounting projects, including, participating in or managing cross-functional teams and managing Company-wide task forces
- Preparing complex financial analyses or reports
- Active participation in industry peer groups.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5
years combined accounting/public accounting experience and CPA
- Strong understanding and command of US GAAP and SEC rules and interpretations
- Basic knowledge of IFRS
- Strong general banking experience with understanding of general banking activities, including loans, allowance for credit losses, mortgage banking and leases
Preferred Skills
- 10
years of experience in a position of increasing responsibility
- Big 4 public accounting experience or accounting policy experience with large financial institution and
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships with cross functional peers and internal and external stakeholders.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
