CONTRACT POSITION
ELECTRICIAN/MECHANIC ----- INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE
Our client, a manufacturer of 100% recycled paperboard and converted paperboard products, is currently looking to bring aboard an Electrician - Mechanic to handle their packaging department.
This position will start out as a Contract position and may progress into a future long term position.
DUTIES:
Perform all duties safely. Use all safety equipment and procedures.
Responsible for the safe, efficient performance of assigned installation, repair, overhaul, mechanical, and electrical maintenance of a very difficult nature on all manufacturing and support equipment.
Works from mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics of a complicated nature with minimum supervision.
Has practical knowledge and is proficient in the areas of mechanics, electricals, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Has excellent knowledge to detect/diagnose quality defects and choose best course of action to alleviate problem in the most efficient manner.
Demonstrates excellent proficiency in repairing/maintaining all equipment without the help of supervision.
Performs periodic preventive maintenance inspections on all equipment and corrects any malfunctions detected.
Satisfactorily uses acetylene/arc welding equipment and is proficient in the use of machine tools such as drill press, hydraulic press, Do-All saw, engine lathe, and Bridgeport miller.
Carries both electrical and mechanical repair jobs of a difficult nature through to completion without the help of supervision.
Lays out proposed wiring installations and specifies materials needed.
Installs electrical conduit, open wire lines, junction and fuse boxes, all types of switches, electrical motors/generators, and electrical outlets.
Operates all electrical analyzers and testers in order to troubleshoot faulty panels/circuits.
Has knowledge of the chillers, air handling system, compressors, and complete bulk storage and the ability to handle any mechanical/pneumatic problems that may arise.
Maintains an adequate spare parts inventory.
Replaces and maintains cable terminators, batteries, circuit breakers, protective relays, power rectifiers, solid state DC drives, and photoelectric control units.
Proficiency in Spanish language is a huge plus but not required.
