SCA Level 3 Mechanic (Structures or Avionics or Systems)

A person in this position does the following; maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and/or engines of complex to extreme difficulty.

Maintains and/or repairs aircraft structures and components including but not limited to structural repairs, flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, electrical and/or mechanical systems.

Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment/structures to OEM requirements.

This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures maintenance manuals.

Work typically requires a comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical components, troubleshooting/repair procedures or a working knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repairs.

Candidates must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.

Bend, stoop and crawl in tight, restricted spaces including fuel cells and aircraft belly areas. Push, pull, lift and hold aircraft parts and components weighing up to 60 lbs. in the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing, or installation of these parts and components from a sitting, standing, bending, squatting or overhead position.

Move and climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding.

Basic
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years related experience in one of the following disciplines: Structures, Avionics or Systems.

Preferred
Qualifications: A&P license desirable with hands on experience on KC-10 platform.
