Summary:
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Opens and closes the gift shop. Assists customers in the selection and purchase of items and maintains the shop in a neat and orderly fashion.
Work schedule will include Monday and Wednesday from 2 - 6 and Every other Saturday from 10 - 2.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Gift Shop Chairperson and within established Elliot Hospital and departmental policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions:
Essential Functions:
1.Greets customers.
2.Assists customers in selecting purchases.
3.Totals purchases, accepts payment, makes change and thanks customers for their purchase.
4.Opens and closes the shop. Prepares, closes and balances cash draw.
5.Maintains familiarity with merchandise and policies in the shop.
6.Takes telephone orders for floral arrangements.

8.Dusts shop. Empties waste baskets.
9.Wipes out cooler and waters flowers.
10.Changes tape in cash register, charge terminal and adding machine as needed.
11.Restocks available merchandise from office area and drawers as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:Prior experience as a sales clerk or in retail preferred.
